Puppies Guide to Training

People concerned with breeding and training of puppies pets must know a few important peculiarities of this activity. Puppies are not like human beings. They are known to learn differently and that is why they are to be trained differently. If you are involved in house training puppies you will realize that they cannot understand that to relieve themselves on the living-room floor for example is absolutely inadmissible. Puppies are not aware of the idea of what is right and what is wrong but they will adapt themselves to their owner’s response to their behavior. If the owner of puppies shows that he is pleased when his pets behave in the right way and that he is disappointed when puppies do wrong they will learn.

If somebody wants to achieve success in training puppies he must have an ability to catch their attention to be sure that they are listening to him. When they are paying attention and responding, he should use praise or treat so that the results of the lesson can be reinforced. If the owner is not able to keep their attention or if they disappoint him behaving in the wrong way he is to scold puppies with a firm word NO. They will quickly make their mind which reaction they prefer and will adapt their behavior to it.

Puppies must have ability to associate their owner’s response to their actions. To teach them this response is to be both immediate and relevant. There is no use in scolding them for their yesterday's behavior or even for something they did an hour or two ago. Puppies have already forgotten about their past actions and will not be able to find any connection between their owners' disappointment and any past action of them. To avoid confusing puppies it is necessary to respond consistently to their behavior. All the members of the family should try to use similar methods of training and respond to them identically.

One more important thing to consider is the breed of puppies. It is no doubt that every breed requires different amount of care, but this fact should’t be the only consideration.

Every breed has peculiarities of their own and may be characterized by different behavior and traits of character. There are kind, good-tempered, playful and active dogs which are suitable for families with children (e.g.: poodle puppies, pug puppies), dogs with bad temper (e.g.: rottweiler puppies), combative dogs (e.g.:boxer puppies) etc. The size of the pet is also very important for people who live in flats or small houses with no yards and little space. So puppies of different breeds whether they are Labrador puppies, shih tzu puppiesor yorkie puppies require different methods of training.

The process of training can take much time and be the reason of some disappointment but puppies will learn. If one wants to know how to train puppies or to have a look at any puppy training guidance, start by praising good behavior, being consistent and by responding to their faults immediately as they happen.
